I Can"t Get Over David Corenswet’s First Superman Appearance Before His DCU Movie & Its Justice League Implications

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for DC"s Creature Commandos.David Corenswet"s Superman has already entered the DC Universe a few months before his movie releases in theaters, and the hero"s first appearance could lead to the Justice League. I find James Gunn"s DCU plans exciting, with a healthy mix of major characters and more obscure players making up the first few projects in the franchise. This formula has also been a success for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so I"m interested to see how it pans out as the DCU gets rolling. That said, I am surprised that no Justice League movie has been announced so far.
Inevitably, that is where many DCU heroes must be headed, so it was interesting to see that no Justice League movie was part of the DCU slate of projects revealed by DC Studios in January 2023. However, DC is making up for the team"s absence by including multiple characters in the franchise"s first few movies and series. This is the case with David Corenswet"s Superman movie, which features a handful of other DCU heroes. While we knew about the heroes who would appear in Superman, DC just surprised everyone by including Clark Kent in another DCU project before his movie.
David Corenswet’s Superman Has Already Debuted In The DCU The Man Of Steel Came First To Animation Close Since watching David Corenswet in The Politician back in 2019, I have wanted to see the actor become DC"s next Superman. Due to that, I can"t wait to see how the star performs as both Clark Kent and the Man of Steel when James Gunn"s Superman movie releases next year. Thankfully, we don"t have to wait so long to get our first DCU scene featuring the Man of Steel. I was shocked to see that David Corenswet"s Superman debut came in a Creature Commandos trailer, and the context of the moment is intriguing.
After the DCU"s first project debuted, a trailer for the remaining episodes in Creature Commandos season 1 showed the DCU debuts of David Corenswet"s Superman, Teen Titans" Starfire, and John Cena"s Peacemaker. The sequence in question is a vision of a possible future shown by Anya Chalotra"s Circe. In it, the characters are dead, with Superman crucified. A new trailer for Creature Commandos" episode 4 has since been released, showing a new part of the sequence. In it, Circe shows Amanda Waller the vision, with Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Hawkgirl, Booster Gold, and seemingly Damian Wayne"s Robin also dead.
I’m Convinced That Creature Commandos Is Teasing The DCU Justice League's First Movie Circe's Vision Of A Bleak Future Is Very Interesting Close While there might not be an announced Justice League movie so far, there is no way that the team is not coming in the DCU"s future. I understand why Gunn might be giving the team a break, as the DCEU"s Justice League movie — and the franchise overall — was not the best. Still, I believe that Circe"s vision could be of a future that happens if the Justice League is not successful in stopping a certain threat. The move would be similar to Zack Snyder"s Knightmare plans for the DCEU in a way.
